Title Research - Action genre

 1.What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? On the website www.artofthetitle.com, we viewed an opening sequence of a movie called The grass is greener.The titles that were displayed at first were the network name then the producers name were presented. The next titles were the actor names which are the people that played certain roles in the film. The other  titles were the music producer and the people that contributed to the wardrobe. At the end of the opening sequence actors names are shown again.

2.What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? The images that were prioritized was a bunch of babies sitting in the middle of a field. The babies are sitting on grass in the middle of no where  playing with random objects.Then, the images show a singular baby playing with a camera which shows how easily distracted a baby can be.

3.What connotations do these images carry? The connotations these images carry is that it gives off the feeling of an anxious situation and a thrilling sense. In the images it looks like a regular everyday scene but to the audience it looks anxious since the babies are in the middle of nowhere and playing with random objects. Later on, the images shown seems random but gives a calm and thrilling feeling because of the background music choice.

4.How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset? The film established the feeling of the action genre by using ominous sound for the outset.This creates the feeling of insightful and excitement which is what the whole action genre is about. Also, the outset sets the rest of the feeling the audience has for the opening sequence.

5.What strategies are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience? The opening sequence uses many strategies to reach its targeted genre and audience. One of the strategies is using ominous sound while the babies are playing on the grass this captures the audience's attention easily. Another strategy is that the film uses a black screen instead of transitioning straight into the next scene which creates the feeling of excitement.The audience is now intrigued on what is going to happen next and is expecting some type of action for the next scene. 

6.How has technology been used effectively? You want to consider camera angles, transitions and editing techniques. The close-up angle captures the intensity of the scene. Also, the film uses an angle that shows the whole aspect of the scene to the audience which lets the audience see the setting clearly. The background is shown easily while the babies are sitting on the grass.Both of these angles play an effective role because they both have a significant impact on the audience's understanding and engagement.The angle also helps the audience's attention span by showing different details of the scene which is a very effective way to keeping their engagement.
