Editing and Getting the right time -production-
Sonali and I have finally finished both filming and editing completely. The last scene that needed to be film was the kidnapper being at the gas station. On April 13, we both finished editing our parts of the opening sequence. Then, she sent her part to me and I added it to my half of the film. Now it is a full opening sequence so I sent it to her and uploaded it on Youtube. We noticed we did not need as much scenes as we thought. We ended up not needing the scenes that showed Niyah being tied up. Therefore, those props used in that scene will not be shown throughout the whole opening sequence. We actually did not film a lot of scenes that was on our storyboard. However, the storyboard was very useful for the beginning of the filming process. We did in fact use it as a guide to film the first scenes. Then, later on we freestyle or improvised on the ending scenes. While editing the sound for the scenes, we muted most of them. We added background music and noises instead. We added a suspenseful song, a sad song, and a song from a show called Victorious. We added police sirens as our non-diegetic sound. While editing I noticed we went over time so we needed to cut some seconds off some scenes. I ended up speeding up a couple of scenes instead of cutting them because the whole scene needed to be shown. For the scene that shows a news reporter I added a certain theme called news to it. This theme gave the news report a more realistic look.
