Planning for my Music Video

 The most important props I will be using is silly string, sparkler fireworks, confetti, a journal. The clothing I will be wearing is both baggy and fitted because of the many different settings that will be included in this music video. The shirt I will be wearing for one scene will have the colors of the American flag on it. On another scene I will be wearing pajamas. The costumes is based on the settings. On November 12, I researched the conventions of pop culture and more specifically dance-pop.On November 14, I decided the scenery, costumes, and the props for each settings. The 21st day of November I will be filming the music video. However, on November 29 I will completely be done filming my music video. After this day I will blog about my filming process and if I overcome any issues.On November 30, I will edit the music video to get a perfect final product without any bloopers. This music video includes many different types of settings. Every setting represents a detail in a specific story.The main setting is at the beach by the water. This setting with shoe the actors celebrating and having fun. The second most important setting is in a bedroom. The actor will be on the bed in pajamas. This scene will showcase heart felt emotions. One of the other settings take place in a bathroom, more specifically in a shower. This scene correlates to one of the lyrics in the song. Most importantly, I aspire to get the best final product of my music video while telling at least two different stories.

Editing the first part of the film

        At first I was worried that the film would not be five minutes. However, now I am worried about it being over five minutes. While editing I noticed there was a lot of long pauses. These long pauses took up too much time for this to be a short film. The first officially scene of the short film I made into a plot screen. This scene shows the mom just coming home and the daughter sleeping which happens at the same time. Therefore, I cut those long pauses out the film. Then, the scene where I was crying, there was not enough sobbing sounds for me. I decided to add an already recorded sobbing sound to that part. This way instead of doing another take of that scene, I could just use that one take. Moreover, for dramatic effect I added a recording of suspenseful music to the scene where the mother calls the daughter ugly. I also duplicated the scene when the mother says the word ugly. Research : How to make a short film

        This informational video helped opened my eyes to more knowledge on how to produce our own film. While watching I noticed I already knew somethings like when they were talking about the creation of films. However, "How to make a short film" video gave a lot of new tips that will help me in the production of our short film journey. The production tips and post production tips in this video were given by a expert in film. One tip that caught my attention is when the expert mentions to not do it if you can’t pull it off. Another tip is that it is key to mess with the audience's mind and emotions. The expert explains that it is either all or nothing and to not do something half or partially. This kind of reminds me of this expression, " Go big or go home".
