Filming Blog: Many places to go ( beach, park, and home)

Image
The last scenes were filmed during a duration of three days. On November 24, the sleeping scene took place. To film this scene at a high angle was challenging. I had to tape my phone to the ceiling and make sure it was stable to start filming. Overall, the scene took many takes because I wanted to get the perfect frame of the actress sleeping and the picture she's holding. On November 25, I filmed five different scenes. I filmed the scene where the actor is sitting on a towel at the beach. This scene was the easiest to film because of how simple it is. The next scene filmed was at the beach too. It was very windy so every scene took many takes. In this scene it shows everybody having a fun celebration. Also, while filming this scene the lighting was not good at all. I used a flashlight while filming to fix the lighting. The next scene was a long shot of an actress walking. The scene that was last shot at the beach was an actress sitting on a bench...

Filming Blog: At my house

Image
This music video took many different days to film. The days it was filmed are widely spread throughout the course of two weeks. On November 14, the scene that was filmed was the pool scene. At first it was a little hard filming while I was in the pool and the actress was sitting on the pool’s ledge. The water kept on splashing and I didn’t want to get my phone wet. Luckily, I ended up not getting my phone wet and the scene came out great. On November 19, I filmed the scene that was a close up of a phone in someone’s hand. This scene took place in a bedroom on a bed.In this scene I was both the actress and director. The scene was easy to film but getting good lighting was a problem at first. Also, trying to film and hold a phone in my other hand was not easy. This scene took three takes to get the correct lighting and close up of the phone.   On November 20, I shot the scene that takes place in a living-room. The setting had a couch and a be...

Planning Storyboard for my Music Video

Image
The first scene it will be filmed as a close up on the phone. An actor will be holding a phone and hitting play on the song named "Shower" by Becky G. This will take place on a bed and the actor's face will not be shown. The setting at the second scene is at a park and the actor is just sitting down. This scene will consist of lip singing along with the lyrics in the song. The third scene is going to be involving a long shot. The actor will be walking on the sidewalk joyfully but the camera will be shooting from a long distance. The fourth scene consist of the camera itself moving side to side which is known as a pan move movement. The actor will be at the top of a slide  and will stay in that position while the camera moves. This scene will be taking place at a park. The fifth scene is taking place at the beach with a beautiful scenery. The props for this will be a towel, bag, and a journal. The actor in this scene will sit on the towel while looking at the ocean view. The...

Planning for my Music Video

Image
The most important props I will be using is silly string, sparkler fireworks, confetti, a journal. The clothing I will be wearing is both baggy and fitted because of the many different settings that will be included in this music video. The shirt I will be wearing for one scene will have the colors of the American flag on it. On another scene I will be wearing pajamas. The costumes is based on the settings. On November 12, I researched the conventions of pop culture and more specifically dance-pop.On November 14, I decided the scenery, costumes, and the props for each settings. The 21st day of November I will be filming the music video. However, on November 29 I will completely be done filming my music video. After this day I will blog about my filming process and if I overcome any issues. On November 30, I will edit the music video to get a perfect final product without any bloopers. This music video includes many different types of settings. Every setting represents a detail in ...

The song I chose for my music video is in the dance-pop and Latin-pop genre. Both genres are subcategories of pop culture. However, the song mostly fits in the dance-pop genre the best. The type of setting that  is commonly seen is in a placed with vibrant colors but there is no specific setting for this genre. Some of the settings that can be seen is a room with a lot of color or at the beach. These type of songs are supposed persuade their audience to get up and dance. The audience usually sees the singer enjoying themselves and having fun. In these type of music videos the costumes usually seen is partying clothes or casual clothing. The clothing can be baggy or fitted depending on where the music video takes place. The image that will be shown to the audience is happiness and excitement from the actors. The props that may be used are lip gloss, silly string, balloons, and many other fun objects. The attitude of the music video is to encourage people to live t...

Introduction to the Music Video Project

Image
For this music video project I chose to work by myself. There are many reasons that I chose to work alone. The main reason is that I do not want any inconvenience while filming the music video. For example, a group member does not have transportation to the filming site of the music video. The second reason is that I want to be able to work at my own pace while doing this project. I like to put my all in my work but I do not like to be pressured into doing my work at a certain time. Also, working at my own pace gives me the ability to be flexible and stay creative during this project. The third reason is that school is online this semester and corona exist. Both factors impact my decision to work by myself hugely.Firstly, I don't know anyone to even have a group to work with. Secondly, I don't want to risk the chance of being exposed to corona with people I am unfamiliar with.        The song I chose for this project is named "Shower" by Becky G. I ch...

Creative Critical Reflection 1.         How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?          My Adidas  commercial uses conventions by including active wear and sport activities which Adidas commercials always consist of. I shot this commercial in a zoom angle and used close-ups because that is the most commonly used in these type of  commercials. It  represents social groups by showing the different age range throughout the commercial. Also, it shows that  Adidas is made for any age group, doing any activity. The social issue that is solved during this commercial is exclusion because anyone can wear Adidas.   2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?        The c ommercial brings the audience's attention by having fast pace background mus...

Adidas Commercial

Image
This project's production was rushed because of how on and off the weather was. I added an extra scene to make sure I got the right time duration. This was my first ever filming project so I have definitely learned from it.Also, this commercial was my first opportunity of being a director. The filming project helped me develop my production skills. My commercial showcased different stories in it. The first story that was showcased was the athletic story which Adidas is known for. This story consisted of an actor playing basketball, running, and walking. The other story involves family and Adidas is perfect for anybody. This story consisted of a family enjoying time together. This Adidas commercial was fun to make and I enjoyed directing it too. The commercial itself was not  difficult to film at all. However, the editing part was the most difficult. It was difficult because I had to get the commercial to be a certain time length. Also, I had to find the perfect background music...

Editing blog: Getting the exact seconds

Image
First, I placed all the scenes in the exact order I wanted it to be. While editing I was trying to mute some of the background noises in the scenes. I tried to align the scenes with the words that were being said throughout the commercial. The hardest part of the editing process was getting the right time duration. To get the right amount of time, I had to speed and slow down certain scenes. I edited the film on my phone because I felt it was easier to maneuver the app on it.When I first edited the video it was too long. The commercial was 40 seconds long so I had to edit 10 seconds worth of scenes out. I cut down the sixth scene where it was conversation going on between the actors.I took little parts of most of the scenes and showed them in the beginning as a teaser.I made sure to emphasize the beginning by adding the words that the narrator is saying on the screen. The rest of the commercial follows an order based on the beginning. The middle and end of the film are extended clip...
