CCR for my music video

Image
 1. How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent socials groups or issues?  My music video uses most of its conventions that are in its genre. The genres of my music video were dance-pop and latin which are just subcategories for pop culture. The common conventions are vibrant colors, open settings, and party like clothing in the genre dance-pop and latin. In my music video I used and followed most of the genres conventions. One convention that can be seen that is showed throughout the video are dancing and lip singing scenes. For example, the scene where an actress is singing in the shower.  Another example, the scene where a group of friends danced at the beach at night. These scenes involve the dance-pop and latin genre visuals and how they get their audience to interact with the music. The whole point of this convention is to get the audience to sing and/or dance along with the song. Also, the settings that is seen within my music video are...

Music Video: Shower By Becky G

Image
This music video took many days to finish filming.By the third day of filming I decided to add an extra scene which was the swing scene. Both the filming and editing process for this music video took a long time to complete. To film the different scenarios, I had to go to many different settings.Getting the different settings for the scenes were worth it because it contributed greatly of telling the storyline. The editing process was less difficult but still took more time than usual. Overall, the process of getting the finish product was difficult. However, some scenes like the pool scenes were easy to film. This filming project was an opportunity to express my creativity. The scenes shown in the music video contributes heavily to the story that is being told. The story is that a young teenage girl having a crush on a guy. This story involved an actress holding a picture of the boy almost everywhere she goes. This music video involved a lot of ro...

Editing Blog: Right Duration Time

Image
When I first started to edit, I noticed I needed more scenes to get the correct time length for my music. Also, I added two other scenes while editing my music video. I first began to organize my scenes to match the lyrics in the song. I noticed that I had to align the lip sync scenes perfectly so I made sure the scenes were the correct length to do so. I muted all the scenes background noises so that the only thing that can be heard is the song lyrics. I struggled with aligning the scenes with the song and getting the correct length music video. I slowed down some scenes to capture the moment in those scenes. However, I speeded some scenes because of how long those scenes were. I noticed while editing that some scenes had bad lighting. I fixed this issue by adding filters to those scenes to make the lighting much better. When I first finished editing my music video, I noticed is was too short. Therefore, I edited again and made some scenes go even slower. Si...

Filming Blog: Many places to go ( beach, park, and home)

Image
The last scenes were filmed during a duration of three days. On November 24, the sleeping scene took place. To film this scene at a high angle was challenging. I had to tape my phone to the ceiling and make sure it was stable to start filming. Overall, the scene took many takes because I wanted to get the perfect frame of the actress sleeping and the picture she's holding. On November 25, I filmed five different scenes. I filmed the scene where the actor is sitting on a towel at the beach. This scene was the easiest to film because of how simple it is. The next scene filmed was at the beach too. It was very windy so every scene took many takes. In this scene it shows everybody having a fun celebration. Also, while filming this scene the lighting was not good at all. I used a flashlight while filming to fix the lighting. The next scene was a long shot of an actress walking. The scene that was last shot at the beach was an actress sitting on a bench...

Filming Blog: At my house

Image
This music video took many different days to film. The days it was filmed are widely spread throughout the course of two weeks. On November 14, the scene that was filmed was the pool scene. At first it was a little hard filming while I was in the pool and the actress was sitting on the pool’s ledge. The water kept on splashing and I didn’t want to get my phone wet. Luckily, I ended up not getting my phone wet and the scene came out great. On November 19, I filmed the scene that was a close up of a phone in someone’s hand. This scene took place in a bedroom on a bed.In this scene I was both the actress and director. The scene was easy to film but getting good lighting was a problem at first. Also, trying to film and hold a phone in my other hand was not easy. This scene took three takes to get the correct lighting and close up of the phone.   On November 20, I shot the scene that takes place in a living-room. The setting had a couch and a be...

Planning Storyboard for my Music Video

The first scene it will be filmed as a close up on the phone. An actor will be holding a phone and hitting play on the song named "Shower" by Becky G. This will take place on a bed and the actor's face will not be shown. The setting at the second scene is at a park and the actor is just sitting down. This scene will consist of lip singing along with the lyrics in the song. The third scene is going to be involving a long shot. The actor will be walking on the sidewalk joyfully but the camera will be shooting from a long distance. The fourth scene consist of the camera itself moving side to side which is known as a pan move movement. The actor will be at the top of a slide  and will stay in that position while the camera moves. This scene will be taking place at a park. The fifth scene is taking place at the beach with a beautiful scenery. The props for this will be a towel, bag, and a journal. Planning for my Music Video

Image
The most important props I will be using is silly string, sparkler fireworks, confetti, a journal. The clothing I will be wearing is both baggy and fitted because of the many different settings that will be included in this music video. The shirt I will be wearing for one scene will have the colors of the American flag on it. On another scene I will be wearing pajamas. The costumes is based on the settings. On November 12, I researched the conventions of pop culture and more specifically dance-pop.On November 14, I decided the scenery, costumes, and the props for each settings. The 21st day of November I will be filming the music video. However, on November 29 I will completely be done filming my music video. After this day I will blog about my filming process and if I overcome any issues. On November 30, I will edit the music video to get a perfect final product without any bloopers.
